Welcome scholarship applicants,

In 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. became America’s first Greek-letter organization established by African-American college women. Through the years, the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha have worked diligently to affirm the organization’s goals of enriching the lives of young people through community involvement, family unity, appreciation of culture and the arts, the promotion of good health and education.

Recognizing that education is the cornerstone of success, Eta Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is awarding laptop computers to selected scholarship winners. Applicants must:

  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Be a full-time student enrolled in a Tucson or greater Tucson area School District, Vail, Sierra Vista, Marana or Sahuarita.
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from the high school’s counselor or teacher
  • Provide a Letter of Acceptance from the college or university
  • Provide an official transcript (must be sealed)
  • Include a personal statement (For help writing a personal statement, refer to following website: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/642/01/)

Your Application Packet Must be include:

  1. Scholarship application
  2. An official transcript (Grades) must be sealed
  3. Personal Statement
  4. Letter of Recommendation from high school counselor or teacher
  5. Letter of acceptance from the college or university

*Please note your application cannot be considered if these items are not included
